This page contains information on the simulated hardware environment we are
using for the assignments.
MIPS R2000/R3000
Harvard has a nice summary of the MIPS R2000/3000 at
http://www.courses.fas.harvard.edu/~cs161/resources/mips.html
(a local copy is here). Note that the local copy will be in
sync with our assignment environment, please use it in preference to
any external copy.
A detailed R3000 reference manual is available here. It covers more than you need to
know. Be aware that some specific CPU details are not implemented in
System/161. Use the rule that if it's not outlined in the above
summary, then don't rely on it existing. However, still feel free
to experiment.
System/161
The System/161 page is at
http://www.courses.fas.harvard.edu/~cs161/resources/sys161/index.html.
Our local copy is can be found from the menu on the left. Note
that the local copy will be in sync with our assignment environment,
please use it in preference to any external copy.
