This project was the subject of an M.D. thesis by Tom Hauser at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. The aim was to build a knowledge-based simulator to help diabetics learn how to control their condition. The diabetic can input his or her diet and exercise patterns and test different doses of insulin to learn the correct regime. It was shown that a knowledge-based simulator is more realistic than previous numerical simulation methods.
