Minutes of Previous Meeting *
CSE Education Committee 18/03 (7 July 2018)
Minutes are incomplete.
Reports from Bodies outside CSE
Not much to report. UNSW3+ is the "big ticket" item for the near future.
4th Year Theses
HW described the Faculty proposal. CSE's current model fits in with the Faculty proposal. Much discussion about completing Thesis B/C together.
Student Misconduct Procedures
MIT outlined the volume of cases that he had to deal with and proposed that cases be handled as much as possible by the central student misconduct unit.
Enrolment Numbers
We have no control over numbers of incoming students, especially PG coursework. UNSW enrols them on our behalf. ATAR assists (slightly) in limiting domestic UG students. How international UG students are enrolled is a mystery.
Discussion on how to deal with very large courses. Solution: a large lecture theatre and a WEB stream.
WEB streams
A message was placed in the enrolment pages for each WEB stream that the course was not a Distance Education offering.
UNSW3+ Readiness
All course readiness forms were submitted, except those for the Cyber Security courses.
