Under contract from the Westinghouse Corporation, the Turing Institute developed a procedure for learning to control dynamic physical systems. The ultimate aim was to build an adaptive controller (using AI methods) to control the attitude of an industrial space facility to be launched aboard the space shuttle. Unfortunately, NASA budget problems killed the ISF.
