Policy on Overloading - School of CSE

Students can overload by 6uc if they have a DN average in the preceding session. NSS allows them to overload by 3uc without permission.
Occasionally students may in the past have been allowed to overload by 6 uc if they have a CR average. We have a duty of care however, when it comes to the load we allow students to attempt.
Notice that this means no overloading in their very first undergraduate session.
There is, in principle, a criterion that says that if a student maintains a DN average while enrolled for 30uc, then they may attempt 36 uc in the following session. It is not clear whether any student has actually done this.
