John Shepherd will report on any interesting/relevant devlopments that have occurred in committees, work-groups, etc. at UNSW.
New Course: Cryptocurrency and Distributed Ledger Technology
Ron van der Meyden has proposed a new course in Cryptocurrency and Distributed Ledger Technology. There is high demand for courses in this area.
From the proposal:
This course is intended to give a technical introduction to cryptocurrency and the blockchain and distributed ledger technologies that underpin the current generation of cryptocurrencies. These distributed ledger technologies are being applied to a range of applications that extend beyond cryptocurrency, including digital asset management, digital certification, financial instruments, securities management, international trade, insurance markets and provenance.
This course is targeted to computer science students, and intended to provide sufficient technical background to commence work on projects in this area.
