Song: Paris, Texas

Just Visiting Part Two, Open Up (as full version)

This song was originally recorded for the Just Visiting Part Two EP (check the link for info), as a 6 minute song, but for some reason was cut down to the 4 minute version that appears on the EP today. The full version was released on the single Open Up.

As much as its title suggests it, this song has nothing to do with the movie Paris, Texas, another example of the bandmembers lack of concern over meaning, but rather whether the title or lyric fits with the music. There also have been reports of whistling in the background of this song which someone heard while stoned. Ever since, this person has been able to hear this background whistling regardless of his mental state. The person talking in the background of the song is Noah Chomsky, from one of his speeches. Also detectable in the background is the sound of a vinyl record running to its end.

Lyrics

I drifted around knowing and I drifted around knowing

Got the nerve, got the feel that we're going to die
ever learn ever feel that you're going to die
ever learn, got to feel that we're going to die

we're all going to die
we're all going to die
we're all going to die
we're all going to die

Got to learn how to feel when you're going to die
got's to learn ever feel how you're going to...
got's to learn how to feel when you're going to die
got's to learn how to feel...

I drifted around knowing
and i drifted around...

we're all going to die
we're all going to die
we're all going to die
we're all going to die

The rhythm in the riddle
Put the pedal to the medal
Its the middle of the puzzle

The middle of the puzzle
put the pedal to the metal
is the rhythm in the riddle
