Hi,
i was trying out dropbox and it seems to be a cool utility to synchronize ur uni work!Very Happy
.... try it www.getdropbox.com

Its pretty good:d
I couldnt install it on my cse account:(
Heres the error i get when i run ./configure

Quote:

checking for NAUTILUS... configure: error: Package requirements (libnautilus-extension >= 2.16.0) were not met:

No package 'libnautilus-extension' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables NAUTILUS_CFLAGS
and NAUTILUS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Could someone help:(

In the nautilus-dropbox dir just do:
$ ./configure
$ make
$ sudo make install

sudo ? on a CSE lab machine ? I don't think so ...

drop box is really cool. Cross platform, delta-blocking, great interface, and really simple to use.

Too bad, can't be used on CSE, to sync/backup work with home, and assignment groups.

NAUTILIS_CFLAGS and NAUTILUS libs, are the environment variables which it needs. Does anyone know how to set them up?

NOTE: DropBox is really addictive!!!

Sure, we could figure it out, but since nautilus only looks in /usr/lib/nautilus for stuff, it would be useless to install it to your home directory.

Hey guys I just figured it out, it's quite simple , but you will need to start it when you log in to your session.
Ok so here is what u should do,

1-Download the dropbox from
http://dl-web.dropbox.com/u/17/dropbox-lnx.x86-0.7.110.tar.gz
2-Extract the file to your home directory , so you should have something like
~/.dropbox-dist/

3-Run the dropbox
~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd

You have to run it every time you log in to your lab account.
By the way you MUST select no proxy for it.
