Re: White-throated Needletails

I too have seen a White Throated Needletail roost. It was at Munghorn Gap
reserve, which is halfway between Mudgee and Sandy Hollow in New South Wales. 
It was dusk and I was sitting in a chair watching the swifts go backwards
and forwards across a clearing. The numbers decreased until only a couple
remained then one flew and landed in the top of a Angophera Floribunda tree
beside me. I was very surprised and observed the bird through my binoculars.
It was almost dark but I could make out the bird perched vertically on a
very thin branch. It was almost 20 years ago and I still recall the
excitement of the moment. When I stood the bird flushed, darn it.

I published an account in Aust. Birds and was talking to Chris Corben from
Qld. after and he said he had witnessed one land too.
