I've made up a stereo Brinihorn out of two cardboard boxes and tested
it in the rain and got a bonus. Before I make any excuses, it does
give a stereo image and uses two ECM lapel mics costing =A39 each.

It's been rainy for days and I propped it up in the porch running into
my Tascam DR1 to pick up my car when I fetched the paper. It is very
prone to wind noise and I've got to do something about the sharp edges
so I've rolled the bass off steeply. The rain got worse and the porch
gave a bit of an enclosed sound, but I got one of my local owls, a
male, hooting for the female which I've been recording recently with
my MKH416 pair. The Brinihorn is budget stereo at =A318, two zeroes
cheaper.
