There seems to be a period in autumn when the owls start up again - whether
it's related to redefining their territories, or whether they're being
'fooled' by length of day / circadian rythym issues I don't know.
I do know that I've been hearing saw whets and great horned owls calling
lots over the past couple of weeks - almost as much as I hear them in March
& April.
