new HiMD recorders ?

Hi all,
        I'd like to be updated about the new generation of HiMD Recorders able 
to 
record in linear format too. Are they worth ?
Eventually what do you suggest to choose among a Sony M1 and them (or other 
alternatives below 1000$) ?
