Hurray, getting noticeably warmer.
Frosts now in -3 to -4 deg. range & not -6 to -8 deg. bracket.
Positively "hot" at Anembo. Does this signify global warming!!!
The wrens have been about all winter in their drab colours.
Now the males have coloured up, their testosterone is flowing & they are
even giving me an helping hand
with R & M on the house once the sun's up & they can soak up some sun -
and of course I'm out of bed.
Photo attached.
And great to see 2 days ago when quite warm, the 1st. "dinosaur" had
emerged from hibernation to soak up
some sun on our deck - one of the younger Cunningham skinks.
Did you hear that in northern Qld. 100s dead kangaroos can be seen along
the Townsville to Mt. Isa highway
and that the wild pigs & feral cats are there in droves feeding on the
carcasses? - incredible drought conditions.
Feed very scarce for all wildlife & even the ferals.
Under such circumstances, why isn't the army out there destroying the
pigs & cats as they did some years ago
in S.W. Qld. when they destroyed over 400 cats in two (?) nights.
Could Tony Abbot or Kevin Rudd or the Qld. Premier care. Could even the
majority of Australians? NO AT ALL.
To quote from The Nature of Robertson -
"Thou shall not steal from future generations by impoverishing or
poisoning the earth".
Steve.
