A lady informed my enquiring son that she was watching two Pacific Baza. I was quickly summoned enjoyed great views of them. We were at Narrawallee inlet on 16/7/05. An hour later they were in our backyard. I love it when a stranger points out a new bird to you in your patch and you initially appear sceptical only to be proven wrong. I'm happy to look stupid every time, especially if it is when two Pacific Baza browsing in the trees in my backyard. I've never seen them on the south coast and going by the entry below would not have suspected them in winter at all. Here's the entry from Handbook of Birds found in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Adjacent Tablelands.
Does this mean it is Un-rare Winter resident or just occasional lost winter pair. cheers Richard -- This message contains privileged and confidential information only for use by the intended recipient.
