>From Coalition Against Duck Shooting's latest media release:
This Wednesday May 4 at 10am - 325 Camberwell Road, Camberwell Dead bird
delivery to Premier Baillieu's electoral office
Last weekend the rescue teams found very few shooters and surprisingly few
birds on the Gippsland wetlands near Sale or the Geelong wetlands.
However, more protected species, including two coots, were brought in at Sale,
as was a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper.
This exhausted bird (which breeds in Siberia and was banded) had not been shot,
but was taken to Melbourne Zoo for rehabilitation.
Anyone who can attend would be very welcome. Please tell all your birding
friends.
Duck hunters are targeting any and every species. We must ban duck shooting.
