Subject: What's the fuss?

Late afternoon in Elsternwick, SE Melbourne. The calls of several Pied
Currawongs are heard, growing closer. Suddenly, ten alight on a eucalypt in our
garden, near a busy thoroughfare. The noise is incredible - a cacophony of
shrieks, whistles, squawks. One seems to have something the others don't, but
it's not much of a prize: a lump of grass. Or is it? The others evict this bird
with aggressive swoops.
Does anyone have an idea why this may have caused such a fuss? (Please see
photo.)
