So have any of the local observers established a link between the
gull's arrive time and the tides?

The Sabine's Gull returned to the wetland today at 1253. It drank,
bathed and preened as per previous behaviour and departed 1326. This
pattern of behaviour seems well established. The earliest time it has
appeared is 1000, the latest 1300.
