Dear David, Alan and all
The best possible sighting from my back deck, this morning 23rd May, at
12.15pm - a pair of Regent Honeyeaters! They flew into the gum trees in
the woodland at the back of my garden, about 28m away, making those
quiet warbly calls, flitted in the canopy for less than a minute, then
flew off to the next tree, and without stopping headed east. No hope of
seeing any bands.
There are Swamp Mahogany in the caravan park down by the Gloucester
River at the back of town. I'll check them out to see if any blossom and
if some more birds are there.
This is a first for Gloucester I suspect - Alan are there any previous
records?
