A visit to Dangars Lagoon (nr.Uralla NSW) yesterday afternoon yielded the usual
list of species, minus the Great Crested Grebes, which are usually there but
may have been hiding up in the reeds. (Water level is falling again a bit.)
There were several Blue-billed Ducks, one Musk Duck, many Pink-eareds and
Shoveler, hoards of Hoary-headed Grebes, a couple of Whistling Kites, a Hobby
chasing dragonflies, and a fair number of distant waders, probably Sharpies.
Most unusual (though not unprecedented) sighting was of three Plumed Whistling
Ducks.
