The book Parrots of the World by Joseph Forshaw lists under B. zonarius (i.e. Port Lincoln/28 complex before it was sunk in with the ringnecks): - not sure if these froms sitll valid but may help in the field B. z. zonarius - red frontal band (some birds)/yellow abdomen - west from Eyre Pen., SA and Tennant Ck to central WA B. z. semitorquatus (28) - larger, green abdo, prominent red frontal band - South of Perth east to Albany B. z. occidentalis - smaller, abdo yellow, head paler - WA from Pilbara south to Murchison River Cas -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
