Hi All,
Mike Carter rang to report an adult winter Black-headed Gull at the gull roost
at the mouth of Buffalo Creek, Darwin last night (Sunday 24th Jan). It was
apparently present through until dusk.
Also yesterday at the Darwin sewage works were 4 Garganey, 3 Little-ringed
Plover (the day before there were 3 Garganey and 4 Little-ringed Plover) and at
least 1, possibly 2, Little Egrets of the Asian race (yellow feet and ankles).
This may be the first observation of this form for mainland Australia. Yellow
wagtails already moulting into breeding plumage were also interesting.
Cheers
Rohan
