A few notable bird moments yesterday morning (24/8/04) while birding
with a visitor at Kings Tableland in the upper Blue Mountains:
-a flock of 100+ Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos (a regular winter
occurrence at this site)
-a small party of Southern Emu-wrens
-a Pilotbird crossing the track in front of us and stopping in the
middle to sing heartily
-2 Glossy Black-Cockatoos
-the beginning of the spring honeyeater migration - flocks of
Yellow-faced and White-naped as well as Red Wattlebirds flying
southwards.
At Hargraves Lookout, 2 Flame Robins calling in bushland regenerating
after fire.
