Hi Netters,
Birds seen to-day 19/7/2001 with Steve Anyon-Smith at Wattamolla
in the Royal N/P south of Sydney.
Black-browed Albatross 25
Shy Albatross 1
Yellow-nosed Albatross 4
Fluttering Shearwater 1000+
Gannet 30
Crested Tern 15
Silver Gull 200+
Pied Cormorant 1
Little Pied Cormorant 3
Sooty Oystercatcher 2
Pelican 1
White-breasted Sea-eagle 1
Peregrine Falcon 1
Little Penquin 1 (heard)
Fur Seal 1
A small mystery with regards the Fluttering Shearwaters.
Althought the vast majority were flying north to south close to shore a
small minority out to sea were flying south to north. All the albatross were
flying north to south with approx 75% of Black-browed Albatross being immature.
All the Best
