Hello Arron
We saw both species during the Regent HE and Swift Parrot Survey in May1998
about the middle of the month and they both remained around the area till
atleast July/August that year. There was very good flowering of Mugga
Irongbarks in that area which was probably the main attraction. The Mugga's
were flowering (and possibly still flowering) early in Autumn this year and
last year. I have not heard of any Swift Parrots/Regent HE's seen this year
in Sydney, but I thought I had a second glimpse of possibly a few Swift
Parrots flying into Central Gardens near Greystanes (beside the Cumberland
HWY) on my way to work last Friday. There are a few of both species up
around the Hunter at the moment though.
