I haven't had this experience at all but I have immitated the calls of the
Pacific Bazas on a few occassions and they have come to me (during both
winter and summer). The only bird of prey I have noticed responding to
immitation. Have seen on one occassion, 6 Pacific Bazas feeding on tree
frogs from Ironbarks at Shanes Park (near Blacktown in Sydney's western
suburbs) in winter. They were all silent during an observation period of
about an
hour.
