Jason, golden rule no 635.2 among birdwatchers is that you can only count
live birds. Even near dead ones washed up on beaches or recently hit by
metallic predators on roads are not allowed in one's count. You are allowed
to say you've SEEN a dead one, but you can't include it in your list of
lifers.( Oddie, W. 1980 pp 36/37).
