This area, known as Bishop's Marsh, still has fluctuating water levels and,
when wet, can hold waders such as Marsh Sandpiper, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper
and Black-fronted Plover.  A couple of Brolgas can often be seen although
they are more reliable a few kilometres away.  In the year that I've been
living locally, I've not seen Black-necked Stork at this site.  I have seen
one on three occasions at Buckley's Hole, Bribie Island, and one at Coochin
Creek off the Pumiceston Passage.  Incidentally, the wader roost at Toorbul
is alive and well with Broad-billed Sandpiper (3), Grey Plover (1) and
Double-banded Plover (2) recently with good numbers of the commoner waders.
There were six Double-banded Plovers on Bribie Island today.
