feeding habits of WBSW

This morning I was watching at a large party of White-browed Scrub-Wrens in
a pine plantation near Lake Burely Griffin, here in Canberra. One thing I
noticed was that many of the birds seemed to be running up and down tree
trunks (up to about 30ft), for all the world like Treecreepers, a behavoiur
I haven't noted before in this species. There are no Treecreepers in these
plantations, so I was wondering whether perhaps the WBSWs were extending
their normal feeding behaviour repetoire. Their cousin, the Scrubtit, of
Tasmania, of course, has made this its only feeding strategy, in the absence
of Treecreepers.

Do WBSW feed on tree-trunks more often than I'm aware of?
