Subject: in-water damping material

Could please anyone give me hints on what damping material to use (easy
to obtain, cheap) for avoiding or attenuating high frequency echoes in a
small water filled pool? I'd like to calibrate hydrophones in a rather
small pool (1m x 0.5 m x 0.5 m) with a series of short (~150 =B5sec) high
frequency (~130 kHz) pulses, and would like to cover the bottom and sides
of the pool with damping material, but don't know what is best to use.
I do appreciate any help!
Thanks a lot,
Ursula Verfuss
