Arash Shaghaghi

I'm 27.

I speak English, Italian and Persian.
and I 'do' Computer Security!

What's up?

I am a PhD Candidate at Networked Systems and Security Group (NetSyS) and Australian Centre for Cyber Security (ACCS) of The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. I am also affiliated with Mobile System Research Group (MSRG) of CSIRO. I work under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Jha, Director of CySPri and NetSyS at UNSW, and Dr. Mohamed Ali (Dali) Kaafar, Research Leader at CSIRO's Data61.

My current area of research is an interdisciplinary work: I'm exploring an Access Control and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) mixture.

Well, recently ..

I visited University of Texas, USA as Research Intern (fully funded) and worked with Distinguished Professor Yvo Desmedt In November 2015.

I worked with Professor Roger Clarke, Chair of Australian Privacy Foundation, at Australian National University (ANU) in 2014.

A bit further back ..

I completed an MSc in Information Security at University College London (UCL) with Merit. For my graduate thesis, I worked with Distinguished Professor Yvo Desmedt. For my undergraduates, I completed a double degree in BSc in Information Technology with full Distinction and as Top Student at Heriot-Watt University of Scotland and IASBS.

Other than 0s & 1s, life has gifted me the opportunity to travel and live in four different continents, each for several years. So far, I can speak Italian, Persian and English.
