The IgPdb Repertoire

The IgPdb repertoire differs from the IMGT repertoire in three ways.

1. The IgPdb repertoire does NOT include many IMGT sequences. This is because our 2008 study of the IMGT repertoire concluded that many IMGT IGHV allelic variants are sequences that include sequencing errors.
2. The IgPdb repertoire includes putative polymorphisms that have not been recognized by IMGT.
3. The IgPdb repertoire recognizes some alleles as functional, despite their designation as ORFs by IMGT. Functionality is recognized by the IgPdb database if evidence from large datasets of V(D)J rearrangements show that a gene is rearrangeable.
