VicKi: A Calendar-Based Personal Task Composition and Sharing System

Abstract. Web service composition technologies are widely adopted among businesses and software developers as an enabler of the idea of reusing existing functionality to build new applications. However, current languages and tools in this area do not support end-users who have limited computing knowledge. When there is an increased reliance on online services by the end-users for their daily activities, certainly, an easy and intuitive service composition paradigm developed around the concepts already familiar to the end-users will be an attractive proposition. We present VicKi, a calendar-based, personal task composition and sharing system. VicKi uses personal calendar events and tasks as well as the concept of ’before&after’ as the core ingredients in implementing a simple and easy-to-use Web service composition framework.
