Statistical Machine Translation

Statistical Machine Translation systems have become popular as performance has steadily improved and the number of language pairs offered on the web has increased. This chapter documents recent progress in the field and presents recent efforts to cast this problem as a machine learning problem. This viewpoint is driven by the vast amount of standard techniques available for machine learning.
